We spent an unforgettable long weekend in Green Bay, Wisconsin to soak in the excitement of the NFL Draft—and it didn’t disappoint! From football fanfare to local flavors, here’s a recap of our NFL draft weekend adventure in Green Bay.
A Sweet Start
Before diving into all things football, we made a quick stop to visit my niece, Lily, who lives just outside of Green Bay. It was the perfect way to kick off our trip—family time always sets the tone for a great weekend.
Electric Atmosphere
Our first stop at the draft was the opening round. When we arrived, the viewing area near the draft stage was already full, so we headed into Lambeau Field to catch the first few picks on the big screens. About 20 minutes in, the crowd near the stage started to thin, and we got the chance to move closer and watch most of the first round up close. The energy was absolutely electric—especially when the Packers picked Matthew Golden. The roar from the crowd was unforgettable!
Draft Merch Madness
Friday brought some rain, but that didn’t stop us. We wandered through the draft event area where vendors were handing out all kinds of draft-themed freebies. One of the highlights? The NFL Draft store! We couldn’t resist loading up on merch—including a Packers jersey for our pup and some Green Bay gear for Lily. We wrapped up the day with a cozy dinner at a classic Wisconsin supper club—comfort food at its finest.
Saturday Highlights: Cheese, Donuts, and a 5K
Saturday was hands-down my favorite day. My sister, niece, and I signed up for the NFL Draft 5K, and crossing that finish line came with a uniquely Wisconsin reward—cheese and Kwik Trip donuts! Patrick met us there and made good use of our free beer tokens while we cooled down.
After the race, we explored the Green Bay Farmers Market, which was filled with charming vendors, handmade goods, and local treats. It was the perfect way to wind down after such an exciting weekend.
Final Thoughts
